Are you looking to make more sales in your business? When I’m looking for more sales in my business, I know that I can either look at getting more sales from the current customers that I have or bringing in new customers. And either way I need to be focusing on marketing and making sure that my marketing is as effective as possible.
Now whether you’re marketing online or off, the most important aspect of your marketing is who you’re targeting.
We have to start with the who, because the #“Who” defines who we are looking for:
Where we’re going to find them,
What they’re interested in buying
Why they would want to buy it from us.
These are critical Pieces of understanding your marketing so that you can make your marketing more effective. A lot of times I’ll get the question. “Why do I want to focus on my target? I know who I want. I want everybody.” Well, no, maybe you don’t.
You want to make sure that you make that target as narrow as possible. That doesn’t mean you have to be limited to one target, but every target that you’re going after, you have to narrow down as much as you possibly can because only by narrowing it down, can you understand:
Who they are
What they want
Why they’re going to buy it
What’s going to make them buy it
Where you can find them
All of those aspects of making sure that your marketing is effective. When you know who they are, you can look at:
Where do they congregate
Where do they shop?
Where do they relax and start to think about
How can I access them in those places?
When you know who you want to go after, you can start thinking about:
What is it that’s important to them so that I can sell them.
What’s going to make the difference for them to want to purchase from me.
All of these aspects have to be understood in the base core of your business. Now, when you’re growing your business, there are Six Steps that you need to take your business through.
The first step is #Foundation and understanding these target markets is really part of the foundation. The foundation helps to create a stable base to build on. Once we have a stable base to build on, then we can go even deeper into our marketing. This is our #niche, and we can go even deeper into our marketing and really start to focus more on the marketing.
Think about new ways of marketing, new target markets that we can go after. Once we do that, that starts to bring in cash. Then we can move up to the next step, which is #Systems. Systems is about putting in the efficiency in the business that brings out time.
Once we have that time, then we can move into the #Team level. The team level is where we take the team that we have and we really turn them into a team that can run the business as well. If not better than you can. Then we have the structure to be able to grow the business, to be able to take that business to the next level. We can put in team leaders, we can put in a general manager and then we don’t have to be in the business 24/7.
We can take a step back and start to turn up the volume, look for the cracks and continue to grow that business, which automatically takes us from that fifth step, which is the #Synergy step into the #Results step, where we get the time, money and freedom out of the business that we went into business for in the first place.
